∙ Amaranth seeds are a fast-growing, drought-resistant, and highly nutritious crop. They grow well indoors and outdoors in most parts of the world and can be sown directly in the garden or prepared seedbed. The seeds grow best when they are sown 6mm deep in the soil at 50cm spacing and kept moist but not wet or dry.
∙ Once plants have grown through the first few leaves they are ready for harvest. This can take 10-14 days depending on weather conditions.
∙ It is important to remove any weeds from the area where you are planning on sowing so that the area will not be disturbed after the germination of weed seeds.
